Biodiversity Hawke’s Bay and the Waipātiki community are excited to invite you to the BioBlitz event of 2020!!
Click here to REGISTER for the Waipātiki BioBlitz
Held at the Waipātiki Bush and Beach Reserves and nearby streams, you will get the opportunity to be part of a fun collaborative group survey, with the objective of discovering and recording as many species of animals, plants, fungi or whatever it is you want to record. This surveying technique is a fantastic way to gain a quick snap shot of the diversity and abundance found in a specific area, with the help of many eyes and hands.
Whether you're a first timer, bioblitz veteran or biological expert, we encourage you to come along and share your knowledge and enthusiasm for all things planty, buggy, lizardy, birdy and fishy whilst collecting great data, which will eventually contribute to assisting with management techniques to conserve and protect our little patch of paradise at Waipātiki.
Over the 24 hour period (between 2pm February 1st until 2pm February 2nd) there will be opportunities to participate in different activities – you can pick and choose depending on what interests you, and dip in and out as you like. We also hope to hear and share information and stories about the history of the area.
If you interested in joining us at the Waipātiki BioBlitz, then Save the Date and watch this space and our Facebook page for more information in the New Year.
