Biodiversity Hawke’s Bay is bringing together leaders in environmental education and protection to share their knowledge at a free event ‘Bio Buzz’ at Aramoana Beach (Shoal Bay) this Sunday as part of this year’s Spring Fling.
Bio Buzz is about learning more of our biodiversity alphabet: Aramoana, Birds, Creeks, Dunes, Estuaries and Freshwater Fish as we hear from local experts or ‘eco-gems’, explore the interconnected coastal ecosystems and see what's under the microscope in the science section. This unique event is the perfect place to share and network with likeminded individuals, learn from each other and celebrate local successes.
Biodiversity Hawke’s Bay is hoping those attending will ‘catch up on the Biodiversity buzz’, taking an interest in protecting and nurturing their own backyard.
The event will be hosted in the historic Aramoana Woolshed, hosted by the Aramoana Environmental and Education Charitable Trust.
Bio Buzz runs from 10am until 3pm on Saturday 28 October at the Aramoana Beach (Shoal Bay).
Anna Baldwin CHB Tourism Co-ordinator is excited to have an event like Bio Buzz as part of the Spring Fling. “We have incredible beaches, lakes, rivers and several wonderful bush areas here in Central Hawke’s Bay so it’s great to learn more about the natural environment and how to take care of it - and a day at the beach will be great fun for all the family too” says Anna.
Hawke's Bay Regional Council have kindly put on a free bus to take visitors from Hastings and Napier to and from the event and the Aramoana Environmental & Education Charitable Trust are generously putting on a BBQ lunch.

Bus stops:
Stop 1: Hawke's Bay Regional Council Office, 159 Dalton St, Napier. Departing 8am.
Stop 2: Porters Hotel, 4 Te Aute Rd, 4130, Havelock North, Departing 8.30am.
People travelling from Central Hawke’s Bay who would like to carpool should meet in Waipawa at 9.10am at the carpark behind 4Square Waipawa.
Those travelling in their own vehicle are invited to meet at 9.45am at the Aramoana Environmental & Education Charitable Trust Woolshed for a quick refreshment before 10am.
